From Davos to Action: Building Ukraine’s Resilience Through Technology

This quarter, TechHope Transitions participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where global leaders discussed Ukraine’s resilience, reconstruction, technology investment, and the future of responsible AI. For THT, Davos was more than a major international gathering. It was a chance to listen, learn, and sharpen how we can help Ukraine move from wartime resilience toward long-term recovery.

Ukraine House was especially meaningful. Conversations there reinforced the strength of Ukraine’s technology sector, the urgency of continued investment, and the importance of trusted partnerships that can support both immediate needs and future rebuilding. These discussions confirmed where THT can make a practical contribution: connecting skilled Ukrainian talent, accountable delivery models, and technology solutions that strengthen communities.

One idea stood out and that was the Tech-Democracy Partnerships. At THT, we see this as more than a phrase. It means building technology partnerships around trust, transparency, shared responsibility, and clear governance. That matters even more when work crosses borders, supports recovery, or involves emerging technologies such as AI.

This thinking is already shaping our work. THT is developing cross-border delivery models with clear ownership, structured workflows, review checkpoints, and responsible AI practices that partners can understand and trust.

We also developed ReMiS-Fuse, our Resilient Multi-Source Decision Fusion for Civil Crisis Operations Platform. ReMiS-Fuse is designed to help decision-makers in Ukraine bring information from multiple sources into a clearer operational picture, support short-term forecasting, and identify response options when time, connectivity, or resources are limited. The goal is not to replace human judgment. It is to strengthen it.

At the same time, THT launched its AI Resiliency program to help organizations use AI responsibly without weakening cybersecurity, operations, or public trust. For us, the message from Davos was clear: Ukraine’s recovery will depend not only on technology, but on trusted systems, skilled people, and partnerships built to last.

THT’s New Strategic Academic Partner: Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

TechHope Transitions is proud to welcome Ivan Franko National University of Lviv as a strategic academic partner. This partnership reflects a shared goal: helping Ukrainian students gain the practical IT, AI, leadership, and communication skills they need to compete and lead in the global technology market.

We are grateful to Dr. Vasyl Lyashkevych (Associate Professor of Systems Design Department), Dr. Roman Shuvar (Chair of Systems Design Department), and Dr. Larisa Zomchak (Associate Professor of Economic Cybernetics Department) for helping make this collaboration possible. Their leadership has been essential in connecting strong academic foundations with hands-on learning opportunities for students.

Our work together began in July 2025 during the Summer School on AI Transformation, an international program that brought together participants from Europe and the United States along with more than 630 Ukrainian students. The program focused on human-centered, responsible AI and gave students exposure to the kinds of technical, ethical, and leadership questions they will face in real-world careers.

THT contributed sessions on project leadership and human-centered leadership in AI, covering practical topics such as risk management, ethics, change leadership, and the EU AI Act. THT also supported the AITs Project Competition, where student teams presented solutions in areas such as carbon tracking, methane monitoring, open-data water systems, and accessible AI tools. Their work showed not only technical ability, but a strong sense of purpose.

In October 2025, we continued the partnership through the workshop “Foundations of AI Project Management: Technical Skills, Communication, and Leadership”. Nearly 60 Computer Science and Software Engineering students worked in teams through the full project delivery cycle, from planning and teamwork to client communication and final presentations. Participants received certificates upon completion.

THT also worked with the Systems Design Department to embed core elements of our AI Resiliency program into existing courses for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students. Rather than creating a separate add-on, we strengthened the curriculum students already use.

This partnership is about more than one workshop or one semester. It is about building a durable bridge between education, real-world technology needs, and meaningful career pathways for Ukrainian students.

THT to Co-Host NY Tech Week Event with Grand Founders

TechHope Transitions is excited to share that we have been selected to co-host an event with Grand Founders during NY Tech Week, taking place in New York City from June 1–7, 2026.

The event will bring together startups founded by entrepreneurs from Ukraine and other underrepresented communities, including veterans, immigrants, and women founders. It is designed to create space for connection, visibility, and opportunity among founders, investors, business leaders, and mission-driven organizations.

For THT, this is an important step forward. NY Tech Week gives us the opportunity to introduce more people to our mission, expand our network of supporters, and connect with businesses and investors interested in Ukraine’s technology talent and long-term recovery.

Just as importantly, this event reflects what THT is working to build every day: practical pathways where technology, entrepreneurship, and purpose come together to create real economic opportunity.
